Xcalons new gamemode.

Cold Fusion. By the looks of it, it seems really fun. Something he can always add to. I can wait to play on it. It'll be great. We'll have plenty of suggestions for him when we try it our of course.

I'm sure it will be on the server soon.

Jeeerks.

Know what really ticks me off?

I'll tell you what. When you're hanging low, just getting ready to shine. Some idiots come about and start some trouble. If you know what I'm talking about, It's the fact people can be such two faces. When I was at CCZ, during it's up time, everyone was trying to be my friend. I was nice to them aplenty. But now they've run off to different places. I try to be cool with them and they're tottal dicks. Talk about lame.

Now with Papa's Planet in construction, a few members ran off to other places for a bit. That's cool. I've been playing on some servers. But just because the server doens't have 5 people on it, and I'm not trying to please everyone does not mean to you to be a tottal jerk when I say, Hi, How's it goin. E

End of message, be nice to people you dont know where they'll end up.

People are fucking crazy.

Otis is being blamed for being uncaring, people are leaving, shits getting DDoSed, and in what? Three fucking weeks? If not less?

This shit's insane, and it should stop right fucking now. Fuck. FUCK.

If we hope to get anywhere, we need to sit down, and shut the fuck up, and roleplay. Otis had the right idea of taking it calm, and now he's gone. We're left with Haze, Papa, and us admin fags.

On the other hand, I couldn't give less of a shit that Racid's gone, he's always been a terrible troll and very unserious, having him around any longer would've been bad for us. Sure, we may need a scripter, but for now we have most of the stuff under control.

Tim610 left, I didn't know him, but he seemed like a pretty chill guy until he left because he wasn't high ranked enough in the administration.

I was going to mention someone else but then I forgot. Fuck.

In other news, TnB's forums got fucked by Pac300. Stan DDoSed or something too, I don't know.

I love the internet.

Oh shit, I lied.

Questions for Otis

Pistolkid:
1. Put the lime in the coconut?
Lime soda is very bad, so not the greatest idea.
2. What is the square root of negative one (-1)
A number.
3. why do koalas post sex videos on 4chan
4chan doesn't exist.
Captain Cookie
1. What is love?
Baby don't hurt me.
2. I jizzed in my pants
-
3. Is snOwtIs a snow pug?
He's actuall a morning person to be honest.
Wolf and his super long questions
1) Why was Desert RP chosen, over all other things, for an event?
We choose Desert RP for a few basic reasons, and secondly, we did not choose it for an event, we choose it as our overall game mode of play.
One, because it was very easy to convert to given the way Garry's mod is at this time. Everyone fighting over script writers, modelers and so on. Given the script we have to use, it was the easiest way for all of us. Choosing our theme, and settings, it was very easy to move in to with just about everyone well aware of the Half life two story line. Even more detailed it was something I personally had never seen tried before, It looked like it would be fun with the release of fallout assuming that people would mix fallout in with it quite a bit.
2) Are there any future plans for branch groups off from the Civil Protection and/or OverWatch?

I would assume so, but don't take it from me. Ask the Combine leader himself, Haze.
3) What is this community's Civil Protection like, and whats different about it compared to other communities' Civil Protection groups?

They're in the Desert, they carry out the much harder duty of dealing with citizens and bugs. With OverWatch teams clearing the desert. The Civil Protection teams are left to handle the town. With out much resources, even the smallest of problems in the big city can be a large deal yet. As Haze is still working on the Civil Protection rules and actions, it will be changing deeply as we adapt to desert role play.

1) What kind of changes are planned to make the script more RP-friendly?

I like to keep first things first, with the server down at this time, and the adaptions into Desert role play being made we've got much on our hands right now.

Although, some things I would like to see added to the server in time are;

New Civil Protection Desert Models
Dehydration mod - Much like The Stranded, but the rate is much slower, and causes your skills to go down while dehydrated.
Set down radio systems - If you've played on MelonScript, you'll know what I mean. You place a radio some where, and everyone in the area can talk and hear out of it.
Thumpers - We will be trying to upload some working thumpers.

2) How are NPCs going to factor into RolePlay?

NPCs often ruin roleplay in a sort. They will be mainly used as back ground effects to add some tune into roleplay. We will try and script it such that OverWatch NPCs that can be spawned will not attack citizens, along with turrets.

3) How are we going to optimize the RP for times when an admin is not around?

We'll, the easyest thing we can do is do our best to get rid of the trolls before they find us. Secondly, the fear of a ban request. Screen shots, and a request can do it.

As for Admin events, we could upload an NPC spawner that adds NPCs for the effect. Players with Advanced tool trust could easily combinify the towns and so on.

There is always the threat of poor roleplay, but that's something every communty fears. There are always the two faces in a community. The solution is to find and get rid of them, or more admins on the server. We've already got an expanding admin team, and I expect it to expand very soon.

I'm going to go watch The Day the Earth Stood Still.

But that's besides the point. I'm more excited for the Dragonball movie and Terminator Salvation.
Sure, Dragonball is probably going to suck dick, but it's going to be amaaaaazing at the same time. Who doesn't want to see real time Kamehameha? Probably some dick, but I don't care about THAT dick.
But Terminator is going to be soooooooo good. It's practically like a whole new series. Christian Bale replacing some dick that looks like a monkey that no one knows about is like Jesus replacing Otis as an admin of P-P.

So yeah. That's pretty cool.

Also, SWORD will fucking cut you wide open.

The life story of Trip Fisk coming soon.

1984

If you haven't read this shit, get it now. If you like the story of HL2, and by god the chances that you do are astronomical because this IS a blog for a HL2 roleplay community, or you're probably at least part of one of them if you're reading this.

1984 follows a man named Winston Smith, his character isn't especially important but he moves the story along. Instead of aliens taking over the world and all of that crazy shit that HL2 presents us with, we have fellow humans taking over the world. Winston Smith is a man who still doesn't see the greatness in 'Big Brother', as all of his colleagues do. Winston searches for people like him to start a resistance, but will he succeed?

I don't fucking know, because I haven't finished it. But the book is pretty damn good and only 10 bucks.

The book is also legendary, coining the terms 'Big Brother' and 'Orwellian'.

So check out this book if you like Dystopian literature.

On a second, unrelated note: SWORD will fucking cut you wide open.

And me and Cheesums are doing a report on Trip Fisk.
